Ryugi Monoguard Vespa

RYUGI’s MONO GUARD VESPA adds a guard to the delicate finesse jig head “VESPA,” while retaining its subtle characteristics. It is designed for tight presentations around cover that were difficult to target with the standard VESPA. Intended for finesse fishing with line of 4 lb or less, it delivers snag resistance thanks to its guard.

Taking into account the hook-setting power required with a guarded jig head and the somewhat forceful fighting needed around cover, the hook sizes remain unchanged from the standard VESPA, while the wire diameter is increased by one size. It uses the same horizontal line tie as the VESPA, helping prevent the knot position from shifting forward or backward during use and making it easier to maintain a stable action. It also features a compact yet secure worm keeper that firmly holds the soft bait in place, minimizing slippage and stabilizing its movement. When fishing, take advantage of the guard’s characteristics to target areas around cover, while operating the lure with enough hook-setting power. SVS184 features a #3 hook, while SVS185 features a #2 hook. Both models are available in weights ranging from 1/48 oz (0.6 g) to 3/32 oz (2.7 g).
