RYUGI’s PIERCE TREBLE BRUTAL is a treble hook designed based on the PIERCE TREBLE to reliably land fish hooked on extra-large lures. The shank has been lengthened to make it easier to achieve solid hooksets even with light, tentative bites. A small barb and TC coating provide sharp penetration despite the hook’s large size. In addition, the hook uses a variable design with different wire diameters for each size, allowing the balance between penetration and strength to be optimized for the intended application.
The #2/0 and #1/0 sizes feature thinner wire than previous models, making it easier for the barb to penetrate the hard scales around the mouth when used with large plugs that do not fit entirely inside the fish’s mouth. These sizes prioritize penetration. The #0 through #3 sizes use slightly thicker wire than previous models, providing greater strength for use with adequately powerful tackle. As replacement hooks for large plugs, they can be configured according to the intended application by considering each size’s characteristics, with an emphasis on either penetration or strength.
