KAHARA JAPAN’s KJ Crank Bait is a crankbait designed with cover fishing in mind, combining a hollow body with a thin circuit-board lip to help avoid snags around cover. The square-lip KJ CRANK BAIT-SL is a 62 mm, 10.5 g floating model. Its hollow-body construction helps prevent the lure from sinking when it becomes wedged between rocks or in similar gaps, making it easier to work around cover that is difficult to target with conventional crankbaits. The square lip produces an irregular action, and the lure is designed to be retrieved steadily along the edges of cover while making contact with obstacles. It comes standard with a combination of a double hook and treble hook, and is also equipped with an eye on the belly. You can add a treble hook for a setup closer to that of a conventional crankbait, change the hook configuration, or attach a blade to add flash, allowing the setup to be adjusted according to the cover being targeted and the desired presentation. With a setup centered around the double hook, the hooks are less likely to interfere with obstacles, making it easier to approach the deeper parts of cover.
