Engine Baby Gill Fin

ENGINE’s BabyGillFin2 is a 2-inch shad/minnow-shaped lure developed for bass that prey on juvenile bluegill schooling around submerged bushes. It features the fishtail design used in the Like Fishtail series and LFT145, with the body thickness and balance carefully fine-tuned to bring out its action. The overall size was also designed with a silhouette similar to that of juvenile bluegill in mind.

Its key feature is a design that allows the lure’s posture to be changed by altering the hook’s orientation. With the eye facing left or right, the lure swims vertically and can be used in a natural, fish-like orientation. With the flat sides facing up and down, it can also be rigged similarly to conventional bluegill-style worms. Nose-hooking it on a trout-style hook is suited to swimming presentations on a drop shot, while an offset hook is typically used with the flat sides facing up and down. It can also be used for cover fishing with a CO hook, as well as with drop shots, light Carolina rigs, jig heads, hover strolling, and free rigs. Inserting a nail sinker into the belly for swimming presentations is another intended rigging method. Recommended hooks are the SUPERIOR LO Hook #3 and SUPERIOR MⅡ Hook #5 or #6.
