Nishine Lure Works BQ Frog

Nishine Lure Works’ BQ Frog is a topwater frog designed after more than five years of development, with the goal of improving the handling and hookup performance of frog fishing. Rather than requiring dedicated frog-fishing tackle, it is designed to be used with an MH rod and fluorocarbon line similar to those used for standard jigs. When using fluorocarbon line, 16 lb or heavier is recommended.

Featuring a compact, wide, flat body measuring 60 mm and weighing 13.3 g ±1%, the BQ Frog combines a low-center-of-gravity internal weight with an upward-positioned line tie to produce a quick, responsive walking action in response to rod movements. Even in tight weed pockets, it can be made to glide from side to side with light rod work. Inside the body is a one-way ventilation slit that allows air and water to escape when a fish compresses the lure, making the body easy to collapse. By changing the hook position, anglers can switch between Normal Mode, suited to semi-open and open water, and Heavy Cover Mode, designed for use in heavy cover. The frog is equipped with NLW’s original double hook.
