Nishine Lure Works’ SMELTHEAD is a swimbait head designed for versatile use, from casting to vertical jigging. Its eye is set at a 90-degree angle, while the front-heavy head balance allows it to sink while cutting through the water, making it easy to quickly reach the desired depth.

During casting, it swims with a slightly nose-down posture, making it easy to continue retrieving while maintaining a consistent swimming range, with the tail held slightly elevated. As a result, even when swimming the lure while knocking the bottom with the head, the tail is less likely to scrape along the bottom, helping preserve the natural action of the rigged soft bait. When used vertically, the jig maintains a horizontal posture for a stable presentation. Available weights are 1/8 oz, 2/7 oz, 3/7 oz, and 5/8 oz. The 1/8 oz model is fitted with an Original #1 hook, while the 2/7 oz and heavier models are available with Original #2/0 and Original #4/0 hooks. This makes it easy to choose the hook size according to the size of the swimbait and fishing style, allowing you to switch between casting and vertical presentations.
