TORAY Fishing’s BAWO EXTHREAD is a fluorocarbon line developed around the concept of creating dedicated designs with different line characteristics for each pound-test size. In the manufacturer’s current official product information, it is listed as “SOLAROAM® EXTHREAD®” and is designed with a focus on consistent diameter, uniform strength, and abrasion resistance. Rather than simply changing the line diameter within the same brand, each pound-test size is given its own material, characteristics, and design formula.

The line is natural in color, with the standard type available from 2 to 20 lb. The 2–7 lb sizes feature 75 m markings, the 8–16 lb sizes feature 50 m and 100 m markings, and the 18–20 lb sizes feature 50 m markings, making it easy to determine the amount of backing on the reel and when the line needs to be replaced. The Volume-Up type increases the amount of line for heavy-duty use while maintaining the material, characteristics, and design formula of each pound-test size, and uses the same marking pattern as the previous model. From fine-diameter sizes suited to finesse applications to heavier sizes requiring strength around cover, anglers can choose the appropriate pound test according to their tackle and fishing style.
