Lucky Craft KJ Flat

Lucky Craft’s KJ FLAT is a flat-sided crankbait designed for a more subtle approach than square-bill crankbaits. It is intended for probing the same shallow areas with a tighter action in high-pressure conditions, during periods of low water temperatures, and in situations such as post-front conditions when a strong action is more likely to spook fish.

In addition to its flat body design, the KJ FLAT features a circuit-board lip. It starts its action quickly after landing and even on short casts, producing a faster, tighter wobble than typical round-bodied crankbaits. Its resistance is easy to feel through the rod, allowing you to monitor the lure’s movement while working it alongside cover, over grass, or across gravel bottoms. Its buoyancy is intentionally moderate, supporting everything from fast retrieves to slow retrieves when cranked steadily, while stop-and-go presentations can incorporate pauses to trigger strikes. Because it maintains its action at low speeds, it is also well suited for thoroughly working a specific area during periods of low water temperatures.

The KJ FLAT 1.0 measures 57 mm, weighs 7.2 g, is floating, and dives to approximately 1.0 m. It is equipped with VMC #6 hooks. The KJ FLAT 1.5 measures 64 mm, weighs 10.0 g, is floating, and dives to approximately 1.0 m. It is equipped with VMC #4 hooks. Both models run at a similar depth, while their size, weight, and hook size differ, allowing you to choose between them based on your tackle and bait size.
