Megabass IXI Shad

Megabass’s IXI SHAD series combines a compact 57 mm body with the LBO II instant center-of-gravity transfer system, pursuing the casting distance and quick swimming action expected of a shad lure. TYPE-R features a high-pitch, high-stability design that makes it easy to maintain a depth of 1 m, while its forward-leaning, head-down posture produces distinct bottom contact. Its high-pitch screw roll, generated by the sharply edged lip, is suited to covering broad shallow flats.

TYPE-3 is designed for long-range tracing down to depths of 2.3 m, yet remains easy to retrieve through shallow ranges of around 1.2 m. It minimizes snagging in shallow water while maintaining concentrated contact with the bottom and structure. IXI SHAD TX uses a “Micro LBO,” which positions the center-of-gravity weight head forward, close to the junction between the lip and body, creating an extremely forward-leaning posture. Despite its large lip and air resistance, it is designed for long casts and can reach deep ranges of up to 4 m when used with 8 lb fluorocarbon. All models are in the 1/4 oz class and are equipped with two #8 hooks. Choose between TYPE-R, TYPE-3, and TX according to the target depth, using a steady retrieve as the basic presentation while incorporating contact with the bottom and cover.
