HMKL’s HMKL CRANK 100 was developed by Kazuma Izumi in pursuit of a predominantly rolling action, making it HMKL’s first full-scale shallow crankbait. Its 100 mm body is designed to imitate the large baitfish targeted by big bass, while its 21 g weight makes it easy to handle with standard tackle.
Featuring a floating design with a fixed center of gravity, it offers maximum buoyancy for its class, allowing anglers to aggressively target shallow water and use its buoyancy to help avoid snags when contacting cover. The circuit-board lip has been tuned to balance action and buoyancy, producing an action centered around rolling. Its silent design is also suited to presentations with reduced rattle noise. Multiple reflector plates are positioned inside the body, creating distinctive flashes as the lure rolls.
The lure is primarily intended for retrieving after the cast, making it well suited to covering broad areas of shallow water. Swivel hook hanger systems are used at both the front and rear to ensure ample hook mobility. The standard hooks are VANFOOK DT-45S #2 hooks, fitted front and rear.
