HMKL Shad

HMKL’s HMKL Shad is designed for tough conditions, with a focus on stable, straight tracking and a tight-rolling action. Its action amplitude remains relatively consistent regardless of retrieve speed, from slow to fast. Rather than triggering fish to chase with an aggressive action, it attracts them with a subtle rolling motion. The 65 series is available in SR and MR models, with maximum diving depths of approximately 1.5 m for the SR and 3 m for the MR when used with 4 lb line. The MR features a large-volume bill for diving deeper while maintaining the same tight-rolling action as the SR.

The 65 series achieves long casting distances with a magnetic weight-transfer system that shifts nearly all of the weight toward the rear during the cast, and its hook hangers are equipped with swivels. The basic retrieve methods are a steady retrieve or a fast retrieve, with the SR and MR selected according to the desired diving range. The HMKL Shad 45 SP is a downsized suspending model that inherits the 65’s straight-tracking performance, tight-rolling action, and hook-hanger swivel system. Despite its fixed weight, it is easy to cast for distance and responds quickly to rod actions, producing an irregular movement. The 45 SP measures 4.5 cm and weighs 2.8 g, while the 65 MR measures 6.5 cm and weighs 5.8 g. Their standard hooks are VANFOOK DT-45S #12 and VANFOOK DT-45S #8, respectively.
