Berkley’s Power Sway 5-inch is a falling bait developed for a subtle approach to cover such as laydowns and bushes, offering a gentler presentation than more aggressive lures. As it slowly sinks in a horizontal position, the split tail sways from side to side against the fall, while the fin tail catches water laterally to create an automatic action. It is designed not only as a falling bait, but also for use as a twitch bait.
Salt is incorporated only into the lower part of the body to help maintain a stable falling posture and improve hook hold. The back features a stepped hook slit that makes it easy to conceal the hook point, while a slit on the belly side helps increase hookup rates. Weighing an easy-to-handle 8.3 g, it is suitable for tackle ranging from ML-class spinning gear to M-class baitcasting gear. It is primarily designed to be fished weightless with a 3/0-class offset hook, and can also be used on a nail rig with an approximately 0.3–0.9 g nail sinker inserted for fishing near the bottom or in current. Use with a glide rig or heavy Carolina rig is also anticipated.
