deps’ SLIP HEAD JIG is a jointed rubber jig developed for working cover where avoiding snags is essential, such as rocky areas, submerged structures, and tangled brush. In addition to a low-center-of-gravity head shape that resists tipping onto its side, the positioning of the line eye and the horizontal eye allows the jig to use leverage to climb over ledges when it becomes lodged against an obstruction, helping the head slip through cover. The two ribs on the bottom of the head make it easier to transmit changes in bottom structure to the rod, supporting presentations that trace the terrain while maintaining contact and awareness. The horizontal eye also keeps the line knot in a consistent position, reducing knot displacement and producing a stable action.

The head and hook are connected with a split ring, creating a jointed design that minimizes interference with trailer movement. The standard hook is a Gamakatsu LD Master with a large-diameter line eye, providing ample range of motion for trailer worms. The hook point can be replaced, and the hook can be changed to match the size of the trailer. The skirt combines three different actions: short-cut strands on the head side, a flaring long skirt on the hook side, and long-tied rubber-cut strands that change shape irregularly in response to water flow and manipulation. The head-side skirt produces tight, subtle vibrations while reducing fall speed and travel distance, while the hook-side skirt appeals with a wavering silhouette. The 1/8 oz model uses finer silicone rubber than the other weights. The 1/8 oz and 3/16 oz models are equipped with a #2/0 hook, while models weighing 1/4 oz or more use a #3/0 hook, with hook size varying according to weight.
