Deps NZ Crawler

deps’ NZ CRAWLER is a crawler bait that powerfully rolls its flat, wide body with large stainless-steel wings, creating substantial surface disturbance. In addition to the wings’ torque-driven crawling action, the screw protruding from the body prevents the wings from locking up while contacting them to produce a scratching sound. The tail section is equipped with a Colorado blade, adding flashing that follows the action, as well as contact sounds from the body and hooks.

The lure is designed to be operated with a slow retrieve. If the body begins to rotate, reduce the retrieve speed or adjust the wings’ spread and twist angles to tune the action. Another distinctive feature is its rotating action, in which it rights itself from an upside-down position after landing on the water. Adjust the wings by holding them with pliers or a similar tool, taking care not to place stress on the wing mounting screw holes. Swivels are used for the hook eyes, and the standard hook sizes are #1 for the NZ CRAWLER, #4 for the NZ CRAWLER Jr., and #7 for the TINY NZ CRAWLER. The lineup includes the 134 mm, 3 oz-class NZ CRAWLER; the 96 mm, 1 oz-class NZ CRAWLER Jr.; and the 75 mm, 1/2 oz TINY NZ CRAWLER. On the TINY NZ CRAWLER, the clearance at the wing bases can be adjusted when the wing movement becomes sluggish.
