deps’ HEAD LOCK JIG is a rubber jig designed to reduce the snagging caused by the football head becoming wedged in rocky areas, while enticing bottom pin spots with minimal movement. The line eye is set well back on the wide football head, creating a standing action that allows the jig to rise around the front of the head as a pivot point. Its stable landing posture resists tipping onto its side, making it easier to feel the bottom composition, while even subtle shaking produces significant trailer movement. During a slow drag, the jig rises in response to bottom contours, creating an action like a crayfish backing away while threatening. The greatly recessed line eye and the water resistance received by the front of the head also support low-trajectory bottom-bumping techniques that crawl along the bottom. The hook features a wire diameter that penetrates easily with light force, along with a turned-in point and short-shank design that catches by digging into the upper jaw. It also includes a wire for securing the trailer. Skirt options include fine rubber, silicone, and silicone fine, with wire-guard models also available in weedless specifications. Head weights range from 1/4 oz to 1 oz, allowing selection according to the water depth and retrieve tempo of the fishing area.
