SPRO’s LITTLE JOHN is a compact crankbait developed by B.A.S.S. Elite Series angler John Crews. Designed for castability despite its small body and for efficiently covering shallow water, it features a computer chipboard bill, which is considered more durable than conventional plastic. Inside, it is equipped with a soft tungsten weight-transfer system. By shifting the weight during the cast, the design delivers impressive casting distance for its size. The soft tungsten also provides a silent design, allowing for a quieter presentation with reduced rattle noise.
The standard LITTLE JOHN 50 measures 50 mm in length, weighs 1/2 oz, and dives approximately 3–5 ft when used with 10 lb monofilament line. It is suited for fishing shallow areas and working a consistent depth around shallow cover. The LITTLE JOHN MD50 retains the basic design while diving deeper than the standard model, reaching approximately 7–9 ft with 10 lb monofilament line. Both models are equipped with #5 Gamakatsu round-bend treble hooks and can be used with the stock setup as purchased.
