Shimano Bantam Lip Flash

The SHIMANO Bantam Rip Flash 115FMD is a floating minnow designed to leverage its high buoyancy and square-shaped body to produce a distinctive “Shimmy Flat Action” as it rises from a suspended position. Adding pauses during the retrieve causes the body to shake as it floats upward, creating a change in presentation for following fish. A low-pitched rattle inside the body adds an audible presence during jerks.

The internal “Jerk Assist Balancer System” is designed to intentionally disrupt the lure’s balance during jerks for sharp action, while stabilizing its posture during high-speed retrieves. In addition to a steady retrieve, it can be used with stop-and-go techniques and varied-strength jerking, allowing the action to be changed through rod work. The 115FMD is a floating model measuring 115 mm in length and weighing 14 g, designed to target a deeper 1.8 m range than the 1.0 m model in the same series. By combining speed changes with pauses, anglers can alternate between the lure’s wobbling rise and darting action during jerks.
