GAIN CORPORATION INC.’s ZAP Standard INCH-WACKY is a jig head designed to make the worm sway widely on an inch-wacky rig while enabling quick hooksets when a bite occurs. The weight distribution of the head, which determines the worm’s action, has been thoroughly refined, and a specific bend curve has been established. In addition, the shank length has been uniquely adjusted so that the hook point is more likely to contact the bass’s mouth as soon as the worm is taken in.
The hook size is #2, and head weights range from 1/48 oz (0.6 g) to 3/32 oz (2.7 g). From lightweight models to weights suited for probing deeper ranges, anglers can select the appropriate option according to the worm’s fall speed and handling feel. In addition to the standard hook, a red-hook version is also available, with a choice of hook type offered in 1/48 oz, 1/32 oz, 3/64 oz, and 1/16 oz sizes. When rigging the worm, insert it at a position that takes advantage of the hook’s bend curve and shank length. It is designed to be used by shaking the worm while moving the head with rod manipulation.
