GAIN CORPORATION’s ZAPPU CHAIN CUSHION is a cushioned, rubber ball-shaped component designed to reduce damage to knots caused by sliding sinkers. It is used between the knot and sinker in setups where the sinker moves along the line, including free rigs, Texas rigs, and Carolina rigs.
To help prevent small components from being dropped and lost during installation, five cushions are molded together in a chain-like form. To use, pass the line through one cushion while they remain connected, then separate the threaded cushion after assembling the rig. Positioned between the knot and sinker on the line, the cushion helps prevent the sinker from directly striking the knot. Available in M size with a 4.5 mm diameter and L size with a 5.3 mm diameter, it can be selected to match the line and rig being used.
It can also be used to secure a trailer hook or to hold a soft plastic bait in place on a worm hook. Since the required number of cushions can be separated from the connecting sections, the chain-shaped design is easy to handle when assembling rigs such as free rigs and helps prevent the cushion components from being misplaced.
