Gary International Co., Ltd.’s YABAI BRAND 2.5″ UKITANUKI is a floating bait developed to target bass holding their heads up at or just below the surface, making use of the buoyancy of its elastomer material. It features a slim body and a distinctive tail designed to easily produce a side-to-side head-shaking action. When paused, it can be left floating to entice fish, while rod manipulation brings out a subtle tail-wagging action. Cutting the tail enables actions involving changes in direction, such as a table-turning action.

When rigged with an offset hook, it is designed to help reduce snagging and can be easily worked beneath overhanging cover, around cover, and through weed patches such as floating heart. Its approximately 3.6 g weight makes it easy to cast and suitable for skipping. The basic presentation is to let it remain floating or entice fish with a head-shaking or table-turning action produced through rod manipulation, then move it near the surface as conditions require. The recommended hook is the Sugoi Hook #1/0, and the recommended line is PE 0.8–1.2. Because it is made of elastomer material, it is recommended to store it in its package separately from conventional soft baits.
