Gary Yamamoto’s YABAI BRAND 2.7-inch Angel Claw is a craw designed for fishing around cover, combining a minimal-part configuration with a sliding action created by its uniquely shaped side fins. The flat body and wing-like side fins catch water to produce a triangular trajectory during lift-and-fall presentations. Its claws move particularly during the fall, then stop when the lure reaches the apex. As it begins to fall again, the claws move while the lure slides, creating a distinctive contrast between stillness and motion. The side fins also stabilize the lure’s posture during slow retrieves, producing an action with a strong presence.

It is made from a low-specific-gravity salty material formulated to be relatively firm with a reduced salt content. With a weight of 4 g or more, the two claws are more likely to catch water, making it suitable for targeting cover with 8 g- and 10 g-class sinkers. It is primarily designed for Texas rigs, but can also be used with leaderless drop-shot and heavy drop-shot rigs. With a leaderless drop shot, removing the fins creates a vertical lift-and-fall action, while a heavy drop shot can utilize the unweighted leader section to produce a spiral fall.
