OSP Erimaki Shad

OSP Erimaki Shad was developed as a minnow-shaped baitfish-style soft bait, designed to produce an escaping action on the surface while also being suitable for hover-strolling and mid-strolling presentations. Its distinctive ruff-shaped fin on the body catches water, creating presence while limiting the lure’s forward movement. Thanks to its high-buoyancy design, it can float on the surface when rigged without a sinker, allowing anglers to target bass focused on the surface.

The body features a hollow air hole, accordion-like constrictions, and tinsel on the tail. During a steady retrieve, the ruff-shaped fin produces a tight wobble without excessive fluttering, gripping the water and swimming like a lip. When twitched, the ruff catches water and sprays droplets, allowing it to create a popper-like action. For hover-strolling and mid-strolling, it supports presentations with limited forward movement, allowing anglers to build a baitfish-silhouette presentation in visually selective conditions.

When threaded onto a trout hook from the underside, it produces a minnow-shaped surface twitching action that was previously limited to wacky-rigged baits. Nose-hooking it on a trout hook with a weed guard allows popper-like manipulation around cover, while pairing it with a jighead makes it suitable for hover-strolling, mid-strolling, and steady retrieves. This 2.3-inch model allows anglers to select the rig according to whether they want to use the ruff’s water-catching ability to limit forward movement or let the bait drift through the midwater on a jighead.
