OSP Weed Rider

OSP’s Weed Rider is a swim jig designed to reduce snagging and weed fouling when fishing through vegetation, minimizing frustration from casting through the retrieve. When it reaches the bottom, it maintains a slightly curved falling posture and is designed to contact the bottom on its belly, making it less likely to catch in weeds. Its flat, wide belly-shaped head and eye position allow it to move over weeds with uneven surfaces and varying heights simply by reeling with the rod held low, rather than lifting the jig with the rod. During the swim, the head’s wobble and roll are minimized, making it easier to maintain depth at long range while allowing the jig to rise more easily near the boat.

The brush guard is limited to the necessary minimum of seven strands to help respond to short bites, and can be pulled out for a guardless configuration depending on the conditions and the angler’s experience. The skirt uses a double-tying structure to increase resistance during the retrieve and enhance its action. In addition to a keeper that helps prevent bulky trailers, such as shad-tail worms, from slipping, it also features a peg hole for securing the trailer with a toothpick or similar item. Available weights include 3/8 oz, 1/2 oz, 5/8 oz, and 3/4 oz, making it suitable for swimming over hard bottom as well as through weeds.
