O.S.P’s 02 Beat (O.S.P BUZZ ZERO TWO “BEAT”) is a clacker-style buzzbait developed with a focus on maximizing the volume of sound—a key quality sought in buzzbaits—to trigger bites through intimidation and reaction. The clacker is made from brass, which is harder than commonly used aluminum alloys, and is designed to produce a powerful impact sound when it contacts the prop. In addition, its custom shape provides a larger contact area with the prop, maximizing the clacker’s volume.
The head features the Surfing Head II, a flat, wide design with a shape resembling a boat hull. It rises quickly and is structured to easily clear floating cover, making it suitable for tracing along the edges of cover. The large prop not only creates a powerful impact with the brass clacker but also contributes to splash and lift during rotation. The rear-weighted configuration ensures a stable flight attitude and excellent castability, while its strong tracking performance makes it easy to guide the clacker-style buzzbait along the intended course. It is primarily used with a steady retrieve across the surface, while around cover, its fast-rising and cover-avoidance capabilities enable an effective approach. In addition to the standard model, a 3/8 oz ECO model is also available.
