Evergreen International’s Flap Claw is a craw worm featuring a compact body and large, thick claws, developed by Ken Fukushima to win tournaments. The weight of the claws, made from a high-density, high-specific-gravity material infused with salt, causes the body to “thud” down from the claws after reaching the bottom, generating strong water displacement and a powerful presence.
The claws feature a low center of gravity with thicker lower sections, helping them stay close to the bottom. The broad bottom surfaces of the two claws and the hook shank make contact with the bottom to help prevent the lure from rolling onto its side. When dragged along the bottom, it maintains a claws-down posture while crawling across the bottom. The textured claw surfaces are designed to mimic the uneven texture of a crawfish and are structured to help prevent the lure from clinging to vegetation. The legs are designed to fold in when the lure is moving and open when it stops, moving subtly in contrast to the claws’ strong vibration, while the antennae flutter in response to water currents. The back of the body features a raised section that makes it easy to embed an offset hook point, along with a narrowed section that minimizes interference with the hook point’s movement during the hookset, combining weedless performance with reliable hooking. Suitable for Texas rigs and leaderless drop-shot rigs, the 3.3-inch model uses a special formula containing shrimp, squid, and baitfish attractants, while the 4-inch model features a special formula containing garlic and shrimp attractants.
