Imakatsu Bakusoku Shad

IMAKATSU’s BAKUSOKU SHAD is a 5-inch soft jerkbait developed as a trailer for the Rainbow Blade, with a focus on achieving the balance and action required of a trailer. Its body, featuring a Javalon tail, provides a moderate amount of pulling resistance during retrieves while taking on water, creating a water-pushing action with a controlled darting width.

During the high-speed retrieve that inspired its name, it produces a finely trembling shiver action reminiscent of fleeing baitfish. Even at a slow retrieve speed, it quickly develops a rolling action and is also capable of handling ultra-high-speed retrieves. It readily produces a rolling action when used for mid-strolling, while on a straight retrieve, the body moves with a rotating motion. When rigged weightless, it exhibits a shimmying fall as it sinks while shaking its body, and it is also compatible with a backslide setup. The official rigging examples introduce a hook setup for mid-strolling and its use as a ChatterBait trailer. By taking advantage of the water displacement created by the 5-inch body and Javalon tail, this model produces different actions depending on the retrieve speed and rigging.
