IMAKATSU’s JAVALLON FLY 65 inherits the shape and material feel of the original JAVALLON, condensed into a compact 65 mm profile. Its multi-jointed, accordion-style body catches water and produces a soft, naturally undulating action when retrieved at a steady speed. In addition, the distinctive material and body shape allow it to lose its posture when it contacts cover or the bottom, transitioning into an irregular action with an unexpected flash or roll. It is well suited to situations with schools of small baitfish, and with fine-pitch shaking, the entire body gently pushes water with a soft, buoyant movement.

With a weightless rig, it can be allowed to sink from the surface to any desired depth and is suitable for slow retrieves, shaking, and suspended presentations. In addition to swimming with fast or slow retrieves, it can also be used by letting it drift, dragging it along the bottom, or pausing it on the bottom. The basic hook-setting method uses the lead holes located behind the slits on the top and bottom of the body, threading the hook from the belly side toward the back. By seating the hook point just beneath the skin along the slope of the dorsal slit, the rig preserves the body’s action while making it easier to fish around cover. The realistic colors are designed with baitfish in mind.
