Imakatsu Dread Hog

IMAKATSU’s DREAD HOG is a school-style hog bait designed to generate complex vibrations from a single soft bait, reminiscent of a school of fry or a cluster of shrimp. It features a structure that combines numerous baitfish-shaped components, each equipped with a shad tail. A total of 14 shad tails move independently—three on each side, three on each of the two upper and lower tiers, and two on the tail—creating complex water currents and vibrations as a whole.

During swimming or shaking retrieves, each component moves in sync, while even when left stationary, the bait naturally undulates in response to the water flow. Because the components continue moving even when the bait is resting on the bottom, it is designed to maintain its presence during pauses in the retrieve. It is compatible with worming rigs such as Texas rigs, drop-shot rigs, and direct jig rigs, and can also be used as a trailer for a skirted jig. With a Texas rig, it is easy to achieve a slow fall even when paired with a 7–10 g sinker, while the shad tails move during the fall to attract fish. Available in approximately 3-inch and 4-inch sizes.
