Imakatsu IS Wasp

IMAKATSU’s IS WASP is a suspending shad plug that refines tournament-proven performance for easier handling. Its fixed center of gravity and aerodynamic balance are designed to deliver long casts and excellent directional stability in flight. The compact body, free of internal weight-transfer noise, is designed with casting accuracy in mind. Its curved body lines generate a soft, powerful water push, producing a strong wobbling action. Even with an ultra-dead-slow retrieve, it is easy to draw out a tight, high-frequency action. A steady retrieve produces a finely pitched swimming action, while twitches and rips create sharp darting movements.

The IS WASP 50 measures 50 mm, weighs 3.5 g, and has an approximate diving depth of 1.5 m. Despite its compact size, it delivers excellent casting distance and directional stability and is suited to steady retrieves with a powerful wobbling action. The IS WASP 55 measures 55 mm, weighs 4.5 g, and has an approximate diving depth of 2.0 m. Its bulkier body improves casting distance and stability in crosswinds and headwinds compared with the 50, and it is also suited to spin cranking. The IS WASP 60 Cut Fast is designed to maintain a straight track while adding small, sharp trajectory changes during fast retrieves. It can be worked at a deeper range than the WASP 55, and its longer, angled lip is designed to help it avoid obstacles. For use, the 50 and 55 can be fished with spinning tackle, while the 60 Cut Fast can be used with bait finesse tackle.
