Imakatsu Fujin Spider

IMAKATSU’s Fujin SUPER SPIDER is designed to imitate an insect that has fallen onto the water’s surface by combining an ultra-lightweight, insect-style floating rubber jig with a high-buoyancy elastomer worm trailer. Starting with the 2017 model, it was updated with a skeleton-type high-buoyancy resin, creating a translucent body that blurs its silhouette. The body also features a treble-hook hanger that can accommodate an ultra-small, fine-wire treble hook designed to resemble insect legs. Combined with the single-weed-guard setup, it can also be used around cover.

The basic presentation is to leave plenty of slack in the line and keep the lure as stationary as possible, allowing its ripples to linger on the surface. When you want to make the lure more noticeable, a light twitch can produce a pencil-bait-style walking-the-dog action. A size 12 fine-wire trout treble hook is recommended, making it suitable for setups designed to catch short bites from smallmouth bass. The included spare worm can also be used on its own as an insect-style worm for rigs such as a drop-shot rig. Because it is made of elastomer, store it away from contact with other lures and high-temperature environments.
