Imakatsu Ripriser

Imakatsu’s RipRizer is a high-floating jerkbait designed around the “Ripping Riser Technique,” which imitates small baitfish rising to chase insects on the surface. It combines a powerful side-to-side water-pushing power slide with a quivering, sharply braking action, then rises with a head-wagging motion during the pause after a jerk. Despite its minnow-like slender profile, it produces a substantial presence and vibration, allowing anglers to target feeding fish rising from below the subsurface. On a steady retrieve, it generates a high-pitch roll similar to a shallow crankbait.

The body features a rear fixed weight and an aerodynamic shape for stable flight and long-distance casting, offering a different performance from moving-weight designs. The fixed weight suppresses knocker noise during jerks, while the minimum-size rattle adds a natural sound known as a “shad click.” The basic retrieve consists of short downward rod jerks followed by pauses. During the pause, the lure rises in a head-up position, then is jerked again to return just below the surface. It also handles standard steady retrieves and super-fast retrieves in current.

Available size and buoyancy options include 60, 90, 110, and 130 models, as well as floating, suspending, and diving models. The RipRizer 130 can also be tuned using the included prop. The RipRizer 130 Foot Magic (FOOT MAGIC) is a medium-floating model with an expanded diving range, based on the action of the 130 GEKIASA. It features a coffin lip for straight tracking and improved obstacle avoidance, along with an internal structure that maintains a high-pitch, tight roll from slow to fast retrieves.
