TH Tackle Hamatonbo

TH Tackle’s HAMA TONBO is a winged insect lure designed to create the presence of a weak, struggling insect on the surface using exceptionally soft wings made from an unconventional material. The body measures 56 mm and has a 2.5 g floating configuration. The wings flex with even the slightest current and respond to small, delicate rod movements that make the line quiver, producing subtle ripples. Rather than strongly displacing water, its key feature is the ability to entice fish with minute surface disturbances and restrained vibration. The soft wings are also designed to help reduce splashdown noise and make it less likely for fish to reject the lure when they bite.

To work the lure, cast it onto the surface and apply small shakes to create tiny ripples with the wings. Because the wings move as they catch the current even when worked at a dead-slow pace, it is also suited to presentations that minimize forward movement. The front hook uses a swivel setup, making it easier to free the hook if it becomes tangled with the main line by shaking the lure. The wings can be replaced if damaged, and replacement wings are also available.
