BETOBETO’s HOO is a big bait measuring 155 mm in length and weighing 38 g, developed around the concept of capturing the enjoyment of controlling a lure yourself. Rather than specializing in any one situation, it is designed to become a standard for big-bait fishing in Japan, with a focus on balancing casting performance, durability, and action response. Its body combines flat surfaces with curved contours and features a stout single-joint construction that delivers both strength and a wide range of movement. On a steady retrieve ranging from slow to fast, it swims with a body-wobbling action, while on a stop-and-go retrieve, it produces a spontaneous, subtle sway as it pauses. It also responds to rod manipulation; twitching can bring out a dog-walk-style action, making it suitable for both steady retrieves and rod-controlled presentations.

The lip is separately molded from flexible PP material and can be removed and replaced. The standard HOO155F is a floating model. By replacing the original lip with spare lips such as the short, wide, deep, and cranking types, anglers can alter the diving depth, action, and ability to navigate around cover. The HOO155HF SPEC-C features a high-floating design and bone material, and comes standard with a cranking-compatible lip. With the additional noisy-style spare lip, it can also produce an appealing rolling action and side-to-side head swing on a steady retrieve, along with a rattle sound generated by the internal free weight. Short twitches bring out a sharp dog-walk action as well.
