BKK Spear

BKK Spear is a replacement treble hook designed to penetrate quickly and deeply with minimal force without compromising a lure’s natural action. Spear 20 SS features a fine-wire round-bend design using 0.8X wire, thinner than the 1X wire used in Spear 21 SS, and is intended to help hook short bites in cold water. Spear 21 SS has a 1X-wire round-bend design and is available in a range of sizes to suit a wide variety of lure sizes.

Both models feature needle points and a Super Slide coating that reduces resistance during penetration. Spear 21 SS uses the elasticity of BKK-81WV carbon steel and a forged shank reinforced for increased strength, with a design intended to help the hook retain its sharpness after multiple bites. The shank is set to a moderate length, making it suitable for use with a variety of hard lures, including crankbaits, minnows, topwater plugs, and swimbaits. Spear 20 SS is suited to situations where you want to preserve the action of lightweight small plugs, while Spear 21 SS is ideal when you want to select hook strength and size according to the lure’s size and intended use. When replacing hooks, select the hook size and weight while checking their effect on the lure’s original action and buoyancy.
