Black Frog Camel SS

FROG PRODUCTS’ BLACK FROG CAMEL-SS is the first-release model in the Black Frog series, developed to pursue the enjoyment of catching fish—and simply using—lures with distinctive character and a unique appeal. This wood lure was made in Japan under the supervision of Kenta Arai, with a body measuring approximately 90 mm and weighing approximately 22 g.

This model is fitted with a Hiyoko Brand propeller, with particular attention paid to the sound it produces during a slow, straight retrieve. Used as a propeller-style topwater lure that takes advantage of the propeller’s sound, its primary presentation is to retrieve it slowly across the surface at a steady speed. It can also be worked with pauses during the retrieve to add variation. Rather than pursuing rapid, continuous action, this model is designed for patiently enticing fish on the surface while enjoying the distinctive presence and sound created by its wood body and propeller. Primarily used with a slow retrieve, it can be fished by adjusting the retrieve speed and pause duration according to the target area and fish response.
