Black Maria Geese

KAHARA JAPAN’s Black Maria GEESE was developed to move through cover such as reeds, water shield, and weeds while minimizing snags and the pickup of debris and aquatic vegetation. Its key feature is a double-wire guard shaped like a goose’s bill, designed to balance snag resistance with hook-setting performance—two qualities that can often conflict. Even when the lure turns completely sideways while swimming through cover, the guard is designed to help deflect obstacles, with a focus on creating bite opportunities after passing through the interior of sparse reeds or weeds. The head is made of zinc and the wire is stainless steel, with head weights available in 1/4 oz and 3/8 oz. The 3/8 oz model can be selected according to cover density, water depth, and the tackle being used. After casting, it is suited to being guided into the targeted cover and retrieved at a steady speed, continuing the retrieve until just after it clears the reeds or aquatic vegetation.
