KAHARA JAPAN’s SEN-SEI is a high-density straight worm developed for fishing open areas. Its most distinctive feature is its elliptical cross-section rather than the conventional round profile. When rigged with the flat side facing sideways, it sways irregularly from side to side as it falls on a weightless rig with an offset hook, producing a random action unlike the straight fall of a conventional worm. Its design makes it easy to maintain both travel distance and time during the fall, attracting fish with its movement as it descends.
When rigging, position the hook so that the F mark on the body faces upward. This turns the flat side of the elliptical cross-section sideways and produces a fall with rolling action. In addition to the basic weightless rig, it can also be used with drop-shot and neko rigs. For weightless and drop-shot rigs, use a 1/0 offset hook. For a neko rig, attach an elastic tube slightly forward of the center of the worm and use a size #2 to 1/0 wacky-style hook. The official nail-sinker setup examples are 0.9–1.8 g for spinning tackle and 1.8–2.2 g for bait finesse tackle. The 4.9-inch model weighs 6 g, allowing anglers to bring out the movement created by its elliptical cross-section through the choice of fall posture and rig.
