Bottomup Scooper Frog

Bottomup’s ScooperFrog is a frog lure designed to produce a realistic kicking action while keeping movement over a limited distance. The head, with its sliced cross-section, catches water and pushes the lure forward, while the protruding mouth serves as a guide for centering the hook point. The original leg design creates a kicking action and natural ripples as the legs stretch and contract, while the returning legs also provide a braking effect. The widely spread arms also grab the water, moving with a lively, twitching action in response to subtle rod movements.

The thick, compact body features vertical and horizontal slits along the back and belly. Combined with the soft elastomer material, this design provides flexibility and makes it easier for the hook point to become exposed when a fish bites. In addition to surface presentations, the lure can also be fished subsurface using a drop-shot rig or a nail sinker. Offset hooks in sizes #3–4 and masu hooks in sizes #3–6 are recommended. When using an offset hook, set it with the hook point brought out through the slit on the back without burying the point. The soft elastomer material will melt if stored together with other soft plastics, so store the lure in the included package after use.
