Bottomup Gap Jig

Bottomup’s GAPJIG is a compact cover jig designed with an easy-to-eat compact silhouette and a wide-gap hook to target bass around cover. The head is made of resin tungsten and features a smooth shape that slips easily through cover, resists tipping over on the bottom, and brings out the trailer’s action. The line eye is set at an upright angle to accommodate presentations with limited forward movement, while the joint is housed inside the head to prevent line breakage caused by the line becoming pinched.

The hook features an ultra-short shank and wide gap, balancing a compact body with a shape that promotes deeper hook penetration. A fluorocarbon coating further enhances its penetrating power. The brush guard positioned at the front of the head maintains clearance from the hook point even with the short-shank hook, and is set at an angle that minimizes interference with cover penetration and hook-setting. The number of bristles is adjusted for each weight. The slim, finely flowing skirt produces a lively action together with a moderate degree of elasticity, while the wire keeper securely holds the trailer. Available in 3.5 g, 5.0 g, 7.0 g, 9.0 g, and 11.0 g sizes, the lighter models are designed with the weight concentrated toward the head, while the heavier models distribute the center of gravity farther back.
