Bottomup Bulls Hog

Bottomup’s Bulls Hog is designed to combine the presence and fish-attracting effectiveness of a hog-style soft bait with the strong water displacement of a paddle and the complex vibrations created by its multiple components. The unique slitted paddle grips the water and produces a lively action, shaking from side to side. In addition to the powerful water displacement created as the paddle’s sides slap the water, rod movements make it swing vertically as well, transmitting vibrations in different directions. After the bait reaches the bottom, the flat-style pintail begins to shake from side to side with a slight delay after the paddle falls over, creating an inherent action even during pauses. The four pairs of legs quiver subtly in response to the paddle’s vibration, while the pair of reverse-oriented appendages vibrates at a high pitch as it slows the fall. Cutting these appendages also allows anglers to adjust the bait’s weedlessness and fall speed.

The body features a thick, rounded shape toward the tail for improved hook-holding power, and a laterally flattened oval shape toward the head to help enhance hooking performance. Raised sections on both the back and belly allow the hook point to be concealed from either side, making the bait reversible and helping anglers use each bait longer. The slightly firm material prioritizes water displacement and hook retention, while its salt content is tuned for a natural underwater posture and it is blended with shrimp, squid, and baitfish powders. The 3-inch model is designed for use with a #1/0 hook. The 3.7-inch Bulls Hog Daddy is designed around #2/0–#3/0 hooks, and features curved slits for an expanded range of movement, along with uniquely shaped legs that produce different vibration characteristics.
