Bottomup Volup Swimmer

Bottomup’s Volup Swimmer is a shad-tail soft bait designed with a silhouette closely resembling a real baitfish and a high-pitch action that rapidly kicks the tail even on a slow retrieve. Rather than producing a wide, rolling action, it swims with a tight pitch, creating a natural visual effect through a subtle wobble and roll that makes the sides of the body flash finely in combination with its realistic shape. It maintains a horizontal posture that resists lifting its head in response to a line being pulled diagonally upward, while the body balance is tuned to prevent the tail from bending unnaturally upward. Based on a vertically flattened, slim profile, its head receives the water before transitioning into a low-center-of-gravity body, combining visual realism with stable swimming performance. A small amount of salt is added to the dorsal side, while the belly contains a higher density of salt to stabilize the posture, improve castability on weightless rigs, and suppress rising. Shrimp, squid, and baitfish powders are also incorporated.

The 3.3-inch model features a dedicated shape with a fuller belly to compensate for the lack of weight resulting from its downsized profile, improving its low center of gravity and swimming posture stability. Recommended hooks are #1/0 to 2/0. In addition to its vertically flattened, slim profile, the 4.2-inch model features dorsal ribs and slits, along with extra material to securely hold the hook bend, and is compatible with #4/0 to 5/0 offset hooks. The 5.5-inch model has its hardness and salt-specific-gravity balance adjusted to match its size, and #6/0 to 7/0 offset hooks are recommended. For all models, setting the hook straight along the body’s centerline and slit makes it easier to bring out the designed action.
