Wordens Timber Tiger

Worden’s Timber Tiger is a crankbait designed for fishing around cover. Its built-in “Timber-Guards” help keep the hooks away from obstructions. The design allows it to deflect off standing timber, rocks, and submerged cover while helping reduce snagging, and it is available in multiple diving depths for use from open water to areas around structure.

The body features a computer-designed thin-wall construction engineered to produce vibration. The lineup covers diving depths from 2 to 16 feet and includes the DC-2, DC-3, DC-4, DC-5, DC-8, DC-13, and DC-16. The DC-13 is a deep runner weighing 5/8 ounce and measuring 3-5/8 inches, reaching depths of up to 13 feet when used with 10-pound-test line. The shallow-running DC-2 weighs 1/2 ounce, measures 2-5/8 inches, and is designed to run at a depth of approximately 2 feet.

The basic retrieve is a cast-and-retrieve presentation, with diving depth varying according to line diameter, casting distance, and rod-tip position. Lowering the rod tip helps the lure run deeper, while raising it makes it easier to keep the lure shallower. When the lure contacts cover, you can stop the retrieve to let it float up, then begin reeling again to help move it away from the obstruction. Deep-diving models, including the DC-13, are suited to probing deep water and the areas outside structure, while shallow-running models such as the DC-2 are ideal for shallow water and areas around shallow cover.
