Sumlures Frank Sum

Sum Lures’ FRANK SUM is an injection-molded model developed from the expertise accumulated through the long-running FRANK SUM series, pursuing easy handling and its distinctive surface action. It features a hollow ABS resin body designed to achieve long casting distance and stable posture while firmly gripping the water and producing action over a short travel distance. Rather than floating horizontally, it maintains an almost vertical floating posture, with most of the body positioned below the surface to create the characteristic head-swinging action of the FRANK SUM.

The strength of the head-swinging action can be adjusted through rod manipulation, allowing everything from a lively dog walk to diving with the line submerged, underwater dog walking, and presentations while rising. Its short travel distance makes it well suited to thoroughly working pinpoint areas such as the edges of cover, weed lines, and structures. However, visibility decreases in strong wind and waves, making it less suitable for efficiently covering a wide area. It measures 70 mm in length, weighs 11.6 g, and is fitted with size #6 hooks. Pair it with a light-action rod and 12–16 lb nylon line, and pay close attention to thumbing the spool as the lure lands.
