PH Custom Lures Square Bill

The PH Custom Lures P Series Squarebill Crankbait is a squarebill crankbait designed around the original W.E.C. E-Series Crankbait created by Zoom founder Ed Chambers, with the goal of achieving the distinctive action and buoyancy of a handmade lure. The P-1 features a rounded, oversized head carved individually from balsa wood, along with a wide circuit-board lip. When retrieved using its high buoyancy, it produces a wide wobbling action and pronounced hunting action, changing direction unpredictably to deflect away when it contacts cover. It also features a silent design without rattles.

The lure is generally used with a steady retrieve and responds well to imparting action by allowing the lip to contact cover such as wood and brush. The manufacturer-published specifications for the P-1 are 2 inches in length, 7/16 ounce in weight, and a diving depth of 3–5 feet. It comes standard with high-quality treble hooks and stainless steel split rings, and also features a hand-applied airbrushed finish. The P-1 is designed for probing shallow cover, taking advantage of its strong action and buoyancy.
