Issei GC Minnow

issei’s G.C. Minnow is a short-lip minnow designed around the development concept of “bringing bass up to trigger a bite.” The minnow itself draws bass up to its designated depth, aiming to induce a reflex strike. While its basic action is a side-to-side darting motion, the G.C. Minnow 75SR-SP features a completely redesigned body and lip compared with the original model. A thicker head and larger lip give it a high-pitch action.

On the retrieve, it responds to speeds ranging from slow to fast, while a slow retrieve produces a wobbling action reminiscent of a weakened baitfish. Rod manipulation during the retrieve can also make it dart from side to side, allowing it to be worked with a combination of steady retrieves and twitches. Although labeled as a suspending model, the 75SR-SP is tuned to slow float. A weight-transfer system is built into the body, with casting performance designed for easy use with spinning and bait finesse tackle.

The lineup includes models with different sizes and lip configurations, such as the 89SP, 75MR-SP, and 75SR-SP, allowing anglers to select the appropriate model according to the target depth and bait size. The basic approach is to bring the lure into the desired depth with a steady retrieve after casting, then incorporate twitches and darts as conditions dictate. Hook specifications vary by model, so when replacing the hooks, select replacements based on the standard size for each model.
