Issei Spatula

issei’s Spatula is a straight worm featuring a vertically and horizontally asymmetrical paddle tail that pushes more water than its silhouette suggests, creating a strong appeal. Ribs molded into the body catch water and, combined with the distinctive Spatula tail, produce a highly noticeable action even with lightweight rigs. During twitches and short jerks, the small tail pushes water to create a propeller-like action. On a slow retrieve, the tail swims with subtle vibrations, allowing a variety of presentations depending on the intensity of the retrieve.

The standard model is available in 3-inch, 4-inch, and 5-inch sizes. The 3-inch features a body and tail specially designed for the size, intended for delicate setups such as neko rigs and split-shot rigs with trout hooks, as well as ultra-small jighead rigs. The 4-inch and 5-inch models pair easily with offset hooks or jigheads around 1 g, with Multi Offset #2 and #1 recommended respectively. The separately specified 4-inch and 5-inch Heavy Salt models use a high-density material, designed to achieve greater casting distance and a faster fall with weightless or light split-shot rigs. In addition to attracting fish during a free fall, they can also be worked with twitches and short jerks to activate the tail. The recommended hooks for the Heavy Salt models are #2 for the 4-inch and #1 for the 5-inch.
