Nikko Kasei ヘビトンボ

NIKKO’s Hebitonbo soft bait was developed around the silhouette of a river insect found in the upper reaches of clear streams, combining a practical profile with the unique characteristics of its proprietary material. The 3-inch Floating Model features a high-floating design that lifts the hook off the bottom underwater, reducing snags while supporting presentations from the surface to slow retrieves. The separately configured 3-inch Sinking Version uses a sinking elastomer material, N・S・M-II (Nikko Sinking Material-II), to avoid the fragility of salt-infused soft plastics. Made from a softer material than the original N・S・M, it is designed to maintain durability while reducing hook pull-through on the hookset.

The Sinking Version can produce the horizontal fall favored by many predatory fish when fished weightless, allowing anglers to switch between the sinking and floating models according to conditions. The 4.25-inch model features a distinctive constricted body section and center slit, designed to create an alluring action while improving cover-avoidance performance. When rigged with a sinker and allowed to fall, it also produces an inherent action, dropping while its legs tremble finely. It can be worked weightless, on a jig head, on a Jika rig, or with a nail-sinker setup, allowing anglers to tailor the presentation to each model’s buoyancy and sinking characteristics.
