RAID JAPAN’s AVI CROSS 30 is a soft bait developed for a subtle, fall-oriented presentation. Based on the AVI falling bait, it combines a rear-weighted, “imo” style body with silicone rubber to entice fish as it falls. The silicone rubber arranged in a cross pattern on the body stabilizes its horizontal posture during the fall, while the side legs and rubber catch water to generate vibration. The fall rate has been carefully balanced to make it difficult for fish to reject, and the rubber is set up with cross threading and maximum-length strands. Depending on field conditions and fish response, the rubber and side legs can be trimmed to adjust the action and level of attraction.

The shape is primarily designed for use with a trout-style hook. By pulling it and letting it pause, or allowing it to rise before dropping it, anglers can trigger bites with its posture and the vibration of the rubber during the fall. One of its key features is that it can be worked by combining movement and pauses without adding complicated rod work. The rear-weighted body’s horizontal fall, the subtle movement of the silicone rubber, and the vibration from the side legs combine to create a model that can produce a distinctive presentation with a fall-centered approach.
