RAID JAPAN’s SWITCHBAIT SCRATCH is a surface plug developed to switch between “spot” and “line” fishing with a single lure. When covering a wide area, it functions as a wakebait that swims on a steady retrieve while leaving powerful ripples across the surface. In pinpoint situations, rod work can produce table turns of more than 180 degrees.

The distinctive gill-shaped features on both sides of the body function as water-catching cups, generating splashes and popping sounds during turns and twitches. In addition, the body’s inner walls are designed thicker than those of conventional plugs, distributing the center of gravity throughout the body. This creates a soft, quiet water entry while producing more water displacement than its appearance suggests. On a retrieve, it efficiently searches a wide area; with rod work, it can be used to thoroughly entice fish in targeted spots through tight head shakes and table turns with limited forward movement. It measures 79.8 mm in length and is in the 3/4 oz class, with #2 hooks front and rear and #4 split rings.
