Raid Japan Buggy Craw

RAID JAPAN’s BUGGY CRAW is a high-specific-gravity backslide worm designed to achieve a balance of casting distance, fall speed, action, handling feel, and hook-holding strength. Its weight is carefully tuned to provide ample casting distance, while allowing it to glide backward at a natural speed after hitting the water. The material offers the durability to withstand contact with cover, along with the moderate firmness needed to bring out its action.

The body features four long arms that catch water and create movement both during the fall and while the bait is paused on the bottom. The long arms provide a moderate sense of resistance when dragging the bait along the bottom, making it easier to detect changes in the bottom structure when fishing weightless. In addition, the legs on the sides of the body efficiently catch water during lifts and rod movements, producing fine vibrations distinct from those of the long arms. The result is a combination of the relaxed movement generated by the arms and the short-wavelength vibrations produced by the side legs.

When rigged weightless, the BUGGY CRAW is easy to send beneath overhanging cover or along the edges of cover by taking advantage of its backslide fall. After a free fall, it can be worked with techniques such as dragging it along the bottom or lifting it. This 4-inch-class craw-style worm combines a high-specific-gravity body with the water-catching action of its long arms, making it easy to transition seamlessly from the fall to bottom presentations after it reaches the bottom.
